Blezz Beats Vocodine

What Is Vocodine?

Vocodine, from Blezz Beats, is a hybrid vocoder plugin designed to reproduce the sound of a physical talk box (voice box) in real time — the effect of a synthesizer played through a tube into the performer’s mouth, shaped by their vocal tract and picked up by a microphone. It combines that classic character with modern processing, and it runs entirely in the DAW: no tube, no driver amp, no separate carrier chain to configure, thanks to a built-in synth engine that is tuned for the job (an external carrier can also be routed in).

The realism comes from three design techniques: consonant isolation for intelligibility, a physical model of the plastic tube, and impulse actuation for responsive dynamics.

Controls and Modes

• Oscillators — seamless blend between square, pulse and sawtooth; shape, bend, glide, fine and cutoff parameters.
• Voice shaping — character, tone and formant controls; hose drive (tube emulation) and saturation for bite.
• Effects — JUNO-style chorus section; grab-and-hold soundwave function.
• Input stage — gate, consonants, sensitivity, leak and mix controls.
• Pitch control — MIDI keyboard input for precise playing, or AUTO mode with user-selected scale for automatic pitch detection and generation.
• Modes — mono for the fine-tuned physical voice-box style; poly for conventional polyphonic vocoder textures and harmonies.

Version 1.2.1 adds last-note legato, a noise generator, dry/wet mix, configurable pitch-mod speed, presets and scale presets, skewed parameters, UAD Luna support (stereo-stereo) and improved pitch tracking. Updates are free for existing owners; one licence activates up to 5 computers.
