reFX Rippler

Every producer has a folder full of sounds that are technically fine and emotionally flat. The reason is physics – or rather, the lack of it. Samples are frozen moments; oscillators are mathematical abstractions. reFX Rippler models the thing itself: vibrating strings, ringing bells, stretched membranes, resonating tubes. When you play it, you are not triggering a recording – you are exciting a physical structure. At €39.99 instead of €99.99 (60% off), it is the most interesting €39.99 in synthesis.

Instruments that behave like instruments

The difference shows up the moment you start modulating. On a normal synth, turning a knob crossfades between static states. On Rippler, changing a resonator’s properties is like changing the object – tighten a modeled string and the harmonics shift the way a real string’s would; enlarge a modeled membrane and the whole character deepens. The 12 acoustic models cover String, Beam, Squared, Bell, Membrane, Plate, Drumhead, Djembe, Vibraphone, Marimba, Open Tube and Closed Tube, and Manual mode lets you paint custom additive resonators when the presets are not strange enough.

A hybrid, not a science project

Rippler is two full layers, and each layer pairs its resonator banks with familiar subtractive synthesis – two oscillators with Phase, Fold and Asymmetry, two filters from 27 types (vintage, ladder, vowel and more). Bi-directional energy coupling lets the resonators interact, so timbres evolve on their own. The exciter section adds 32 samples, custom impulses, sample import and even live sidechain input as alternative ways to set the resonators ringing. It is as deep as a modular system and as immediate as a preset synth – 441 factory presets prove the second part.

Play it like it is alive

With MPE and aftertouch, Rippler becomes genuinely performative: press harder and the modeled bar rings brighter, slide and the tube’s resonance follows your finger. Four LFOs (64 shapes), four envelopes, random generators and macros with custom curves keep everything moving, and 13 effects across three chains – led by the five-mode RutaVerb – place it all in space. Scala and MTS micro-tuning open the door to non-Western scales and experimental intonation.

Where it fits your music

• Organic plucks and mallets that no sample library phrases this well
• Bells and metallic percussion with real decay
• Pads that evolve because the physics evolves
• Cinematic textures, impacts and atmospheres
• Experimental leads that surprise you
• Rhythmic elements from the arpeggiator and sequencer

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do I receive?

The complete reFX Rippler synthesizer, your own license key, and a download link sent to your email – 60% off.

Is physical modeling hard to learn?

No – the 441 presets sound great immediately, and the interface exposes the models as intuitive controls (tension, size, material-style parameters).

Can I use my own samples?

Yes – the exciter section supports sample import, custom impulses and live sidechain input alongside the 32 included samples.

Does it work with my controller’s aftertouch/MPE?

Yes – MPE and aftertouch are fully supported and map beautifully to resonator parameters.

How is it delivered?

A secure download link and your license key arrive by email, usually within minutes of checkout.

Frozen sounds are a choice. reFX Rippler at 60% off makes them a thing of the past.
